New paper published
We have reason to celebrate here as our work on wind energy exports has been published as a paper with Energy Policy. This paper was based on the face-to-face survey responses gathered from our previous project with SEAI. This work also acted as a launching pad for our current research which probes deeper into export issues using a nationally representative sample.
This new paper, entitled "Public preferences for wind farms involving electricity trade and citizen engagement in Ireland" finds that the financial and employment benefits of a wind farm are key determinants of acceptance for export project. Respondents preferred moderate levels of engagement which did not require too much effort on their part. Prior experience and place attachment also impacted outcomes.
